After bad news from London spoils a country fair at Windsor, the lord of the Castle prepares to face the enemy head-on.

The map of Windsor illustrating this installment comes from about 100 years before Mary Shelley’s time, but it’s really too pretty not to share. The House Park (above) was known as the Little Park when she wrote The Last Man. It’s called the Home Park these days, which is what I’ve used here. Look for them to be calling it the Small Park a century from now.
